Check out the first poster and clip of ‘Frances Ha’ staring Greta Gerwig.
Shot in damn near-complete secrecy and announced to the world as part of last years TIFF line-up, Noah Baumbachs newest film Frances Ha hits theaters later this year and a new poster and clip have arrived online.
First up, via EW, is a real short clip featuring Greta Gerwig, who also co-wrote the film, as the titular character, a 27-year-old aspiring dancer in Brooklyn whose life has failed to take off since graduating from Vassar. The clip is under thirty seconds and gives a quick taste of the low-key charms — and black-and-white cinematography courtesy of Sam Levy — of the film. Our Telluride review called the film one of Baumbachs most accessible and joyous works and more like a spontaneous mumblecore picture, but with an exuberant dash of whimsy and fancifulness not seen in either [Baumbach or Gerwig] of their previous pictures.
A new poster has also been released, which takes a previously released still from the film and turns it pink. Its a simple, yet striking image for the comedy. Frances Ha dances into theatres in limited release on May 17th.
