J.K. Rowling to Publish Three New Books About Harry Potter

On August 16 2016, J.K. Rowling announces she’s publishing three new e-books about Harry Potter on Pottermore.com. According to the post, “Pottermore Presents” will be released on September 6. It would be a short books ala novella, that will tackle the in depth world of Harry Potter.

The three stories to be released are titled: “Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide”; “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists”; and “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies.” The cover art was designed by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima — known as MinaLima — the same team behind the artwork of the Harry Potter film franchise.

“Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide” will focus on the iconic wizarding school itself, and will provide further details about the Hogwarts ghosts and “what happens when the Sorting Hat can’t decide on a student’s house,” according to Pottermore’s statement.

“Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists” will feature new information and stories on Professor Horace Slughorn, written by Rowling herself, and will dig deeper into the terrifying nature of Azkaban prison.

The final story “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies” will focus on many of the Hogwarts professors, including Remus Lupin and Minerva McGonagall. The book will also provide new information on McGonagall’s role in the second wizarding war.
