Variety is reporting that the Anna Karenina actress Alicia Vikander has been cast in the upcoming Bill Condon WikiLeaks/Julian Assange film.
“Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website” by Daniel Domscheit-Berg will be the basis of the film, along with DreamWorks’ other acquisition “WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War On Secrecy,” by U.K. reporters David Leigh and Luke Harding. Josh Singer will adapt.
Pic revolves around the Wikileaks founder who launched the whistleblowing site in 2006 and began antagonizing world governments by leaking embarrassing diplomatic cables and other state secrets, prompting the U.S. to seek to prosecute.
Vikander will play Bruhl’s co-worker and eventual love interest.
