Al Pacino will be returning to Broadway as Tennessee Williams in a new play, “When God Looked Away” by Dotson Rader. Judith Light is slated to co-star in the play which will begin on Broadway next season. The play is based on Rader’s 1985 biography of Williams.
This is the second tidbit of good news about Al Pacino this week. On Thursday it was announced that he would be a recipient of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors along with Argentinian pianist Martha Argerich, the rock band The Eagles, gospel and blues singer Mavis Staples and musician James Taylor. The honors will be presented to this year’s recipients during a ceremony in December. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS.
