Anne Rice’s THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES Looking For New Home

Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles is on the lookout for a new home at Hulu said no to the TV package.

The Vampire Chronicles series follows vampire Lestat de Lioncourt who serves as hero, antihero, and narrator. Previously the project was being produced by Paramount Television and Anonymous Content to air on Hulu but the rights reverted to Anne Rice after that project was halted.

Rice is now shopping The Vampire Chronicles along with The Mayfair Witches about a family of witches, which began in 1990 with the novel The Witching Hour. Paramount was said to be among four or so bidders for the new package.

Rice has been very keen on seeing her works on TV since the rights reverted to her after regaining theatrical rights back in 2016:

“A television series of the highest quality is now my dream for Lestat, Louis, Armand, Marius and the entire tribe. In this the new Golden Age of television, such a series is THE way to let the entire story of the vampires unfold.”
