Watch the trailer for Billy Lynn’s Halftime Walk!
Sony Pictures has dropped a new trailer for its forthcoming war drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk from director Ang Lee. The ambitious pic, based on the bestselling novel by Ben Fountain, is the first from a major studio to be shot in 4K, native 3D at the ultra-high rate of 120 frames-per-second — much higher than what audiences are accustomed to. The pic will bow in theaters on Veterans Day, November 11, then roll out after that.
Told from the perspective of a 19-year-old (newcomer Joe Alwyn) who has just returned from the Iraq War, the film highlights — through flashbacks culminating at the spectacular halftime show of the Thanksgiving Day football game — what really happened to the squad, contrasting the realities of the war with America’s perceptions.
