Claire Foy (The Crown) and Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory)will receive honors at the upcoming 24th Annual Critics Choice awards.
Foy will receive the CCA’s #SeeHer Award – given to women who embody the values set forth by the #SeeHer movement — to push boundaries on changing stereotypes and recognize the importance of authentic portrayals of women across the entertainment landscape.
Bob Liodice, CEO of Association of National Advertisers, which spearheads the #SeeHer campaign released the following statement:
“We are very honored to recognize this acclaimed actress with our third annual #SeeHer Award, [Foy’s] portrayals of such strong female characters is an inspiration for our movement.”
Chuck Lorre is set to receive the Critics’ Choice Creative Achievement Award.
“The Big Bang Theory has been called the most successful television comedy ever, so it seems like the perfect time to honor Chuck as that show gets ready to ride off into the sunset,” said Joey Berlin, President of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. “For a quarter of a century Chuck has been keeping us in stitches with comedies of remarkable hilarity and consistency, delighting viewers and critics alike.”
The Critics’ Choice Awards will air the January 13 on the CW live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
