Along the same vein as High School Musical, Disney has announced its release of their newest movie musical Teen Beach Movie. The film will premiere on July 19th, but fans can get a taste of the film on March 19th with the release of the full-length trailer, exclusively available on Disney.com and the Disney Channel.
Starring are Ross Lynch (“Austin & Ally”) and Maia Mitchell (ABC Family’s upcoming “The Fosters”) as Brady and McKenzie, surfers who take the last wave of summer, one that mysteriously takes them into a classic beach party movie, Wet Side Story. There, it’s surfers versus bikers for control of the beach hangout…and everyone spontaneously breaks into song and dance. Brady and McKenzie must try to return to present day, but their lives may be changed forever when they inadvertently change the movie’s romantic storyline — and the movie’s handsome surf guy Tanner is falling for McKenzie while biker girl Lela is swooning for Brady.
“Teen Beach Movie” also stars: Grace Phipps (ABC Family’s “The Nine Lives of Chloe King”) as Lela, Garrett Clayton as Tanner, John Deluca as Butchy, Chrissie Fit (“General Hospital”) as Cheechee, with Tony Award-nominated Kevin Chamberlin (“Jessie”) as Dr. Fusion and Steve Valentine (“Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie,” Disney XD’s “I’m In The Band”) as Les Camembert.
