DOCTOR WHO Reveals Its First Female Doctor

Fans now have a new incarnation of Doctor Who’s Doctor and in a first for the show it is a female incarnation.

The 13th Doctor will be played by Jodie Whittaker (Broadchurch) she will replace the current Doctor played by Peter Capaldi who’s last episode is set to be the Christmas Special.

“I’m beyond excited to begin this epic journey – with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet,” said Whittaker. “It’s more than an honor to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can’t wait.”

There has been a lot of discussion in the Doctor Who fandom over who should play the Doctor everytime it is revealed that an actor is leading the whole and there has been a significant clamoring for some diversity in the role going back to its relaunch in 2005.
