THE GIFTED: L-R: Sean Teale, Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Percy Hynes White, Natalie Alyn Lind, Emma Dumont and Blair Redford in the "Monsters" episode of THE GIFTED airing Tuesday, Feb. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2018 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Annette Brown/FOX.

The Gifted the Fox/Marvel show based on the X-Men related titles has been cancelled by Fox after two seasons.

It seems that despite fans and critics alike being positive about the second season of the drama that followed a family having to go on the run from authorities after their children are revealed as mutants the viewer numbers didn’t reflect that.

The Gifted‘s second season averaged a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating in Live+7, about half of its Season 1 average (2.0), and 3.3 million viewers. Although the online numbers are much better. There has been some discussion of the show moving to a streaming network but that seems more like hope than expectation.
