‘Game of Thrones’ Headed to Hall H at Comic-Con

There are two exciting reasons to hear the phrase Winter is coming this summer – so soon after that iconic phrase might have dropped into disuse with the series finale of Game of Thrones. One: summer weather is HERE and this writer for one already can’t deal. Two: the HBO series is headed to Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con next month for one final Game of Thrones celebration.

Deadline reports that “barring an unforeseen new conquest of King’s Landing,” Game of Thrones will be taking the stage in the largest room at SDCC for what is sure to be a highly anticipated panel. Thrones has previously been a mainstay at the convention, last appearing in 2017, and this presumably final panel for the series is going to be lit like the unsuspecting streets of King’s Landing. (Too soon?) That’s even without an announced lineup, though Deadline writes that Kit Harington (Jon Snow himself) is likely to attend.

Now that the series has ended and spoilers are fair game, here’s hoping for an exciting lineup of cast members from the recent and not-so-recent past (Richard Madden, anyone?!), deleted scenes or bonus content for one last bit of new Thrones, and – if we’re REALLY lucky – George R. R. Martin announcing the long-awaited release date for The Winds of Winter. Hey, a girl can dream, right?

Comic-Con 2019 will take place from July 18-21 in San Diego, with a Preview Night on July 17. Stay tuned for exactly where Game of Thrones lands in the schedule – and be ready to brave the elements like the Army of the Dead (more sun, less snow) to be part of the audience.
