Marvel’s first female fronted superhero film Captain Marvel has added British actress Gemma Chan (Humans).
Captain Marvel centers on Danvers, an Air Force pilot who debuted in the comics in 1968 as a human companion to the original Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell). When her DNA was fused with that of an alien during an accident, the resulting alteration imbued her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection and flight.
Chan will play Minn-Erva who in Marvel comics is a Kree geneticist and spy. She is perhaps best known for appearing in British Sci-Fi drama Humans which has seen praise on both sides of the Atlantic. She is set to appear in the film adaption of Crazy Rich Asians.
