Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney and singer Halsey are teaming up to produce and star in TV series “The Players Table.”
Based on a newly released mystery thriller “They Wish They Were Us” by Jessica Goodman.
Annabelle Attanasio will pen the script and direct the series. Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross from Crazyrose will produce along Sweeney’s Fifty-Fifty Films and Endeavor Content.
Set in Gold Coast, Long Island exclusive prep school, Sweeney will play Jill Newman. Her character is on a quest to investigate the mysterious murder of her best friend Shaila three years. As a “players” — a Gold Coast Prep’s secret society, Is Jill ready to learn that her fellow members might have a hand on her former’s best friend demise?
Halsey will play Rachel Calloway, who will help Jill to uncover the truth behind Shaila’s murder. As a former member of ‘The Players,’ Rachel’s younger brother, Graham, was convicted for Shaila’s murder. She believes her brother’s innocence and hopes to exonerate him before he turns 18.
