Amidst fan rumors swirling of a possible band break-up to the release of a new album, Dan Reynolds took to Facebook Live on August 9th to reveal some exciting news! The Imagine Dragons front-man quickly dispelled any rumors of an impending break-up stating, “we will NEVER break-up and you can quote me on that!” Thanks Dan, I think we will! However, an album is not imminent even though he confirms that the band HAS been writing. Instead, Reynolds unveils that his long-time dream of starting a record label has been achieved!
Dubbed “Night Street Records”, it is a subsidiary of Interscope Records to which Imagine Dragons is currently signed. Reynolds was clearly excited to reveal that as president of the newly formed label, K.Flay (aka Kristine Flaherty) is the first artist he will sign.
The Stanford University graduate first discovered a love for writing music in college and receives high praise from Reynolds as “one of the best artists he has ever known.” K.Flay initially signed with RCA Records in 2012 but later left the label after she struggled with the often rigid conformity of the music industry. Now, under Reynolds wing, HNS is ready to see her career and artistic freedom take flight! Her first EP under Night Street titled, “Crush Me” is set for an August 19th release. A single off the EP, “Blood in the Cut”, is available for a brief time as a free download via www.kflay.com.
Album Cover for “Crush Me” Available August 19, 2016.
