“If with ‘Deadpool’ the goal was to make you laugh, with ‘Life’ the goal is to make you sweat,” co-writer Rhett Reese recently told us about the movie he penned with Paul Wernick. The duo, who are still basking in the smash success of “Deadpool,” move in a totally different direction with their upcoming sci-fi flick, and it just got a whole lot more interesting with this latest cast addition.
Jake Gyllenhaal is joining Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson in the project. Daniel Espinosa (“Snabba Cash,” “Safe House”) is directing “Life,” which centers on the crew of an international space station who come across life from Mars that is more intelligent than expected. Judging by what Reese teases, what they find perhaps won’t be too friendly.
