Kristin Stewart is set to star in political thriller Against All Enemies.
Stewart is set to join the project along with Jack Connell and Anthony Mackie. Inspired by real events and follows iconic actress Jean Seberg who in the late 1960s was targeted by the illegal FBI surveillance program COINTELPRO. Seberg was an American actress who spent half her life in France, was a darling of the French New Wave.
Because of her political and romantic involvement with civil rights activist Hakim Jamal (Mackie), she was also a target of the FBI’s attempts to disrupt, discredit and expose the Black Power movement. O’Connell plays the ambitious young FBI agent assigned to surveil her, only to find their fates dangerously interwoven.
Benedict Andrews will direct a script from Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. Production is set to begin next year.
