Deadline reported, Outlander star Laura Donnelly has been cast as the lead in HBO ‘The Nevers.’
It’s a drama series from Joss Whedon, the creator of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Avengers.
The series will be directed by Whedon, he would also co-write the script with Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie.
The Nevers is an epic science fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.
Donnelly will portray Amalia True which has been described as “the most reckless, impulsive, emotionally damaged hero of her time. A menace to stuffy Victorian society, she would die for the cause and kill for a drink.”
