Marvel’s Agent Carter has been cancelled by ABC after two seasons, much to the fury of its fans.
Marvel’s Agent Carter was a bit of a departure from most things comic book related, its period setting, female lead and girl power message was seen as a breath of fresh air by many, but it was always meant to be a sort of stop gap to deal with the mid-season break of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
At the very least the show will be held up by many as an example of a female lead genre series done well.
Fans of Hayley Atwell need not despair as she has been snapped up for a new show on the same network.
Atwell will star in Conviction s a lawyer and the former First Daughter Hayes Morrison, who is about to accept a job offered from her sexy nemesis, NY District Attorney Wayne Wallis (Eddie Cahill), to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother’s Senate campaign. Working with his team at the new Conviction Integrity Unit will let her use her brilliant mind to turn over cases where there is credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, and give her a chance to turn things around with her high-powered political family.
