Neil Patrick Harris (A Series Of Unfortunate Events) has joined the fourth Matrix instalment with Jada Pinkett Smith reportedly in talks to reprise her role in the franchise.
There are no plot details currently known but we have some insight into the cast – Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss are set to reprise their roles and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has been cast as one of the leads.
There are no details on who Harris will play, Pinkett Smith played Niobe captain of the Logos hovercraft and one of the rebels in the war against the Machines and the Matrix. In the virtual world of the Matrix, Niobe is a gifted martial artist. The character also appeared in the Enter the Matrix videogame and The Matrix Online multiplayer game.
The three previous films — The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions — have collectively earned more than $1.6 billion at the global box office. All three were written and directed by Lana and her sister, Lilly, and starred Reeves and Moss.
