Hollywood News Source’s own Film/TV Journalist Domingos Coxi hosted and moderated his own panel of very talented young filmmakers and creatives at the MCM Comic Con 2021 on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021.

It was a fun and engaging panel where the panelists were able to impart their experiences and different pathways into the industry. Below is a the synopsis, which was from the MCM Comic Con’s website for the panel.

Behind The Scenes With Indie Filmmakers :

Join a group of young independent filmmakers and creators from different parts of the film, TV and entertainment’ industry at the Live Stage, as they discuss their personal experiences of behind and in front of the camera from film/theatre productions they have worked on. If you want to know how to break into the industry, this panel is one not to be missed!

Below is an introduction of the talented panelists for you to keep a look out for, written in their own words:

Gabrielle Wood

Starting off her film career as a runner before script supervising, Gabrielle has been working in the continuity department for 4 years, working on various features and shows such as Netflix’s “The Old Guard”, Studio Canal’s “Railway Children Return” and CBBC’s “Horrible Histories”. Currently she’s looking to join her two passions of sign language and film by joining forces with BSL Zone to work on films for the deaf community.

Darryl Ley

Hello I’m Darryl, an entertainment news contributor and all around TV fan. I have been writing for fan and entertainment news sites for around 15 years starting with book reviews before moving on to writing about TV and film. I’ve written articles for Hypable, Starry Mag and That Hashtag Show and participated in dozens of interviews.
More recently I have appeared on the Geektown podcast and created two podcasts around TV and Film. I am the Owner/Editor of Hollywood North News, a website that highlights the contribution of the Canadian Film and TV industry.

Valentina D’ Annunzio

I’m Valentina, I’m an independent documentary filmmaker and video editor. I grew up in the mountains of Switzerland, and I’m currently living in the frenetic London’s life since 2015. I have a Bachelor Degree in Visual Communication and a big passion for Film, Photography and Art. I like travelling, reason why majority of my projects are Documentaries from the world where I show the different realities I meet. People, stories and emotions are at the core of my work and life – my empathy is important for the approach of every work I do. My work includes “An Extraordinary Place” an award winning biopic about a blind man and how he sees the world that surrounds him. My short “This Was Berlin” got selected in few festivals around the world including the TFFL. In November 2020 I published my first photography book “Beyond Camden Market” which achieved its sales target in less than 48 hours! I’m currently working on a documentary about India, and on a series of short documentaries about people of London.

Sanchez Brown

Sanchez Brown started his acting career at the age of 13 appearing in such shows as The Bill, Kerching and drama series ‘Ahead of the class’. Realising a lack of content and opportunities for Black actors, he began to write and produce short films winning numerous awards before embarking on his journey to LA (Los Angeles) where he attended illustrious drama school of Stella Adler. Now back in the UK, Sanchez is currently writing a theatre piece about his childhood growing up in North London and continuously creating content to give other actors experience and opportunities.

Michael Clayton Jr

Michael is a location Sound Recordist with 6 years experience in the film, TV and media industries. Recording audio for feature and short film productions, broadcast TV production, commercials, documentaries, corporate and online content. His work on narrative feature & short films has been exhibited at various film festivals in the UK and
internationally. He has worked for clients that include Netflix, Facebook, Google, Peugeot, BBC, CBC, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Opera House and many more.

Ros Gilman

Ros Gilman is a classically trained composer, conductor, music producer and musician, educated at the University of Music, Vienna and the Royal College of Music, London. He holds a Master’s Degree in Composition for Film, a Bacherlor’s Degree in Classical Composition, a Diploma in Concert Violin and a Diploma in Music Business. Ros’ credits include two prime-time feature-length TV documentaries, several TV show episodes, over a dozen acclaimed short films and most recently the HBO Asia Original Horror series Folklore (season 2, ep. Grandma’s Kiss). Ros has also produced the orchestrations for seven prime-time feature films. Ros’ music has enjoyed wide success on streaming platforms, receiving 14 Spotify editorial placements and close to 4 million streams to date. Ros’ releases have also been repeatedly playlisted on national radio (BBC 4 Radio and BBC 3 Classic Radio) and received support from the press (BBC Music Magazine, Newsquest Times Series, Arts Professional). Ros has also been featured on numerous blogs, podcasts, and regional radio shows, both in the UK and abroad. His work has received several awards and nominations, among others at the British Animation Film Festival, International Sound and Film Music Festival, American Songwriting Awards et al. As a former concert violinist Ros has performed on national TV and radio, such as ABC Australia, Kanal 1 Bulgaria, and ORF Austria and as a conductor has worked with the Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra, the Prague Metropolitan Orchestra and others. Ros is the founder and managing director of London-based music production company and record label Guiro Music Ltd.
