Moulin Rouge! the epic and visually-stunning Baz Luhrmann musical is beginning a new life as, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, and has started its run at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston. The musical follows the same plotline at the movie, following the story of Christian, a young writer and poet, who falls in love with Satine, a cabaret actress and courtesan, in Paris. Aaron Tveit plays Christian and Karen Olivo is Satine.
Fans of So You Think You Can Dance will be excited to know that a show-favorite, Sonya Tayeh, choreographed the musical (so you KNOW it was be amazing). Here’s a little teaser:
