Netflix has greenlighted an eight-episode series ‘Shadow of Bone’ by Leigh Bardugo. The series will be based on the best-selling YA series Shadow of Bone and Six of Crows which are also known Grishaverse.
Eric Heisserer (Birdbox) and Shawn Levy are attached to head spear the project. Levy’s company 21 Laps will produce with Bardugo serving as an executive producer.
Heisserer will serve as the series’s showrunner. Shadow and Bone follows the story of Alina Starkov, a young-orphan girl who lives in the once-great nation of Ravka that’s been torn by two Shadow Fold; surrounded by monsters who feast on darkness and human flesh. Alina will be tasked to confront the secrets of the Grishas.
Leigh Bardugo is the best-selling author of Grisha verse also known as Shadow and Bone & Six of Crows.
