‘Outlander’ Stars Coming to New York Comic Con

Each July, I spend the days of San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) fighting jealousy and muttering to myself “next year, next year” in a constant loop as my West Coast compadres meet my favorite actors from shows I sincerely love.  I was fully prepared to do this again this year because, again, this year, I will not be going to SDCC. <insert sad face emoji here>  But, HA!  It was announced today that Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire), of Starz “Outlander,” will not be attending SDCC this year but, instead, will be attending New York Comic Con (NYCC) in October.

Here’s what we know: Hueghan and Balfe will attend NYCC on Saturday (Oct 6) of the con to fire up the fans before season 4 of the show begins in November.  Currently, they are scheduled to appear in a panel.  Co-stars Sophie Skelton (Bree) and Richard Rankin (Roger) were also announced to be part of the NYCC line up.  If you follow the show you know the upcoming season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s 4th book in the series, Drums of Autumn. Skelton and Rankin’s characters are a big part of this season which means this panel is going to be pretty amazing folks!

If you haven’t attended NYCC before, you need to go now to the website and sign up with the “fan verification” system they introduced a few years ago.  You must be “verified” before you will be able to buy a badge for the 2018 show and, therefore, the panel.  Fan verification is open now and closes on July 8; badges go on sale to the general public (all of which must be verified, don’t forget to do this!), July 10.   NYCC does not sell multi-day badges.  You must buy a badge for each day you plan to attend.  So, yes, you can buy a badge just for Saturday, if that is what you want, but really, there’s so much to see I recommend multiple days.  NYCC has just begun announcing their comic, entertainment and literary guests and the line up is always so exciting. You can get more information at www.newyorkcomiccon.com or at the hyperlink in the text above.
