Peter Capaldi Announces DOCTOR WHO Departure

Peter Capaldi made a surprise announcement on BBC Radio when he stated he will be retiring as Doctor Who this season.

“One of the greatest privileges of being Doctor Who is to see the world at its best,” said Capaldi. “From our brilliant crew and creative team working for the best broadcaster on the planet, to the viewers and fans whose endless creativity, generosity and inclusiveness points to a brighter future ahead. I can’t thank everyone enough. It’s been cosmic.”

Capaldi will be leaving at the same time as showrunner Steven Moffat keeping up the recent trend of actors who have taken up the role to stay for 4 years before moving on. He will exit on the 2017 Christmas Special.
