RJ Cyler (Power Rangers) is set to join the CW’s DC show Black Lightning in a recurring role.

Cyler is set to play Todd Green, the gangly and awkward tech genius who’s passed over for a research grant. He doesn’t take it well, until he gets an offer to join Tobias Whale (Jones).

Black Lightning stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III, Damon Gupton, Jordan Calloway and James Remar and is currently in its second season on the CW.

Cyler can currently be seen in theatres on White Boy Rick alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Jason Leigh. On TV he appears on Jim Carrey’s I’m Dying Up Here.
