At the Safe Haven premiere, producer Wyck Godfrey let us know (watch the video below) that some big news would be coming for the film adaptation of The Fault of Our Stars. A director is the next announcement we’ll get for the film, and once that’s settled, we’ll start getting some casting announcements. This week, some seemingly innocent social media items made fans think we might be getting closer to the big announcement of who would direct and we also got a confirmation of who might be up for the role of Hazel.
Hypable has confirmed that Shailene Woodley (who will be playing Tris in the film adaptation of Divergent) is in consideration for the role of Hazel. She is not confirmed to have the role, but she COULD be our Hazel. No names have been revealed for the role of Augustus.
Hypable also takes a stab at who might be directing the film based on some social media interactions. Will Josh Boone (Stuck in Love) be directing?
With a big question mark, we believe Josh Boone will helm the Wyck Godfrey-produced film. In recent days, Boone followed John Green, Godfrey, and Woodley on Twitter. He also retweeted Green’s tweet about big news concerning the book to film adaptation coming soon.
Additionally, author John Green posted the following on his Twitter:
Big news is forthcoming in re The Fault in Our Stars movie. THIS HAS BEEN A VERY EXCITING COUPLE OF DAYS.
