SJ Clarkson to Direct ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel HBO Pilot & 8 Actors Cast

Deadline reported, SJ Clarkson (Netflix/Marvel’s The Defenders, Jessica Jones) has been attached to direct and produce the prequel pilot of HBO’s Game of Thrones.

From the creation of George R.R. Martin, a line up for the series regulars have been announced. Naomi Ackie (Lady MacBeth), Denise Gough (People), Jamie Campbell Bower (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones), Sheila Atim (Girl From the North Country), Ivanno Jeremiah (Humans), Georgie Henley (Narnia), Alex Sharp (How To Talk To Girls At Parties) and Toby Regbo (Reign) are joining the prequel pilot.

Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse have previously been cast as the lead of the series.

Jane Goldman will serve as the showrunner and producer executive produce alongside Martin.

The untitled prequel takes place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. It chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.
