The axe has fallen over at CBS with two of its summer shows getting the chop.
Freshman dramas Braindead and American Gothic are no more with cancellations after their first seasons. Braindead starred Mary Elizabeth Winstead and was a horror satire set in Washington where those in power were being taken over by mysterious lifeforms. American Gothic revolved around a prominent Boston family with a dark and deadly secret, it starred Juliet Rylance and Justin Chatwin.
These moves mean that currently the only scripted CBS content returning next summer will be surprise hit Zoo set to return for its third season it is an adaption of the novel of the same name by James Patterson.
