MAISIE WILLIAMS at Shooting Stars 2015 Portraits in Berlin

A Storm In The Stars, the English-language helming debut of Wadjda‘s Haifaa Al-Mansour which began shooting late last month, has now been joined by Far From The Madding Crowd‘s Tom Sturridge, fresh off an Olivier Award nomination for the West End production of American Buffalo. Game Of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams and Stephen Dillane, and Downton Abbey‘s Joanne Froggatt have also been confirmed by the production. Elle Fanning and Douglas Booth star with Bel Powley and Ben Hardy rounding out the cast. Check out the first pic from the production above.

Sturridge is playing the role of Lord Byron in the period romantic drama about the tumultuous love affair between dangerously charismatic poet Percy Shelley and the brilliant and beautiful 18-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin. It’s at Lord Byron’s house at Lake Geneva that the idea of Mary’s Frankenstein is conceived when a challenge is put to all guests to write a ghost story. But society at the time sees little value in a woman writing such a literary masterpiece and she is forced to protect her monster and forge her own identity. Dillane and Froggatt are playing Mary’s father and stepmother. Williams is Mary’s friend, Isabel Baxter.
