According to Deadline, YouTube has order a pilot episode of ‘The Edge of Seventeen.’
Based from the 2016 young-adult film of the same name, it’s going to be a half-hour show.
Annabel Oakes is attached to write and direct the pilot. Kelly Fremon, who was the film’s writer and director, will serve as an executive producer.
The adaptation is described as a witty coming of age series, which, in the spirit of the film, will subvert standard teen show tropes while following a high-school student and her best friend as they navigate the relationships, feelings, and realities of being a teenage girl.
Filming is set to begin in January 2019.
